Sunset from Photo Ville, Brooklyn USA

Fujifilm X-Pro1 - 27mm ISO 640 - F/2.0 @ 1/20th

Last night as I walked along the shore of the East River I happened upon this scene.
The sun had set and it was almost 9pm.  There was light from the park casting the green glow on the rocks and city was lit from behind.

It was also interesting for me to notice that the WTC is lit up in red, white and blue in thirds.  I can't see that in the city since only the top is visible.
All images are shot with the X-Pro1 and 18mm lens at ISO's ranging from 320-1250.

Photo Ville is a really neat installation over in Brooklyn.
An amazing gathering of shipping containers arranged into a "village" and then holding displays for many vendors.  It's really a neat place located at Pier 3 under the BQE.
Here are some images from my visit over there.

Lomography always impresses me with their displays!

Fujifilm XF Lenses Road Map

Fujifilm is proud to announce the expanded line-up of Fujinon XF lenses for a wider range of photography with the interchangeable lens camera FUJIFILM X-Pro1. From super wide to telephoto, users will be able to freely choose lenses that match their shooting style or purpose, letting them enjoy high-quality photography with FUJIFILM X-Pro1 in various scenes.

2 additional lenses in autumn 2012 and 5 unique lenses arriving early 2013 for a total of 10 lenses in the line-up!

Since the X-Pro1's announcement in January 2012, users have given many requests concerning interchangeable lenses. In order to respond to them, Fujifilm will introduce later this year, a bright F2.8 super wide 14mm (21mm in 35mm equivalent) single focal length lens and a bright F2.8-4 zoom lens that covers the shooting range of 18mm to 55mm (27-84mm in 35mm equivalent), in addition to the three single focal length lenses in the first series of Fujinon XF Lenses. Another five lenses will be added to the line-up in early 2013, making the total 10 lenses. Fujifilm will strive for the development of lenses that cover a wide range of focal lengths and offer bright and high resolution reproduction even at the periphery, so that users can enjoy the high resolution features of FUJIFILM X-Pro1's 16mp X-Trans sensor.

Fujifilm X-S1 at the Jazz Lawn Party

There aren't many events where you just know you have to switch your film simulation mode to Sepia - but when I headed out to the Jazz Lawn Party on Governors Island - I knew that as I was transported back in time I could get away with the sepia look.  Certainly just a few snaps are enough - but when this guy with a machine gun turned towards me I knew I had a winning shot.

All the images here were made with the Fujifilm X-S1 which is a long zoom camera.  The range is 24mm-624mm.  Most of the party shots were at the wider zone - but later in the day when I walked past the WTC I tried the long zoom handheld at 24mm and 624mm on the crane.

I must say it was much nicer than carrying a heavy DSLR with lenses.  The key for the day was also using the EF-20 flash for daylight fill.  I encourage you to check out their next Jazz event in August.

The legendary and quirky Bill Cunnigham of The New York Times.  His blue jacket was looking particularly iridescent that day!

Why the downturn mouth??

That's sorta how I felt after a long day too!
